6th Annual Photo Contest Finalists!

The fifty finalists are here. We have selected, ten for each of the five categories. From these 50 finalists, five category winners and a grand prize winner will be selected. One more winner will be selected by you, our reader. Our readers' choice contest is now open and ready for you to vote. The winning entries, including our readers' chose winner, will be published in the print edition of Smithsonian magazine during summer 2009.

Category winners will be awarded $500. The readers' choice winner will be awarded $500. The grand prize winner will receive a four-day, three-night Smithsonian Journeys Grand Canyon Weekend Adventure for two from July 17-20, 2009, or the wholesale cash equivalent.
