Altema Rosenine cuddles her injured 11-month-old, Ande, underneath the temporary tent structure set up in the rubble of their collapsed home following the devastating 2021 earthquake in Haiti. Ande suffered a broken leg and sustained injuries to his head, but he survived insulated from falling debris by the corpse of his uncle. Despite this miracle, the family lost their 3-year-old daughter, Oarah. The father, Chrislome, told us, "Where there is life, there is hope."
