This certainly captures a bygone period and the remnants that still remain, along with some of the loneliness for those that are still part of the landscape.

Knowing that the Coney Island of rides and booths and fast food, characters and wanderers, is fast disappearing, this photo is nostalgic for old good times.

I think people read a lot into the Navaho picture that wasn't there. This picture really captures the late night feeling of a any carnival. It reminds me of some Hopper paintings.

The photo evokes the contrasts and disjunctions of Coney Island today. It's both sad and ironic, evocative if you've been there and mysterious if you haven't.
