1904

The St. Louis Art Museum hosts a vast collection of artworks spanning various periods and styles. Visitors can explore galleries dedicated to American and European art, as well as African, Asian, and Oceanic art. The museum's collection includes renowned works by artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso, and Georgia O'Keeffe. One of the highlights of the museum is its Sculpture Hall, a grand space with a soaring ceiling and marble columns. This hall displays a range of sculptural works, from classical Greek and Roman pieces to modern and contemporary creations. The museum is also known for its beautiful outdoor spaces. The south terrace features the Sculpture Garden, which showcases a diverse collection of sculptures, including the iconic King Louie Plaza. This outdoor area provides a tranquil setting for visitors to admire art surrounded by nature. Overall, the St. Louis Art Museum is a must-visit destination for art enthusiasts and history buffs alike. Its rich history, impressive collection, and beautiful surroundings make it a cultural gem in the heart of St. Louis. The photo was taken at night in front of the iconic King Louie statue with the art museum in the background all lite up.I don't take many night shots, but this is one of St. Louis's top 10 attractions, I have even had friends get married in the actual art museum. Since 2009, 31.2 million dollars have gone into construction and to help preserve the art, both inside and outside, in 2013, Art Hill was able to open their expanded facilities for summer activities.
