The magnitude 9.0 earthquake happened 130km off eastern Japan at 14:46 3/11 2011. 3m～40m high Tsunami struck large area of pacific coast, almost 600km, of Japan. There were lot of city, town, and village in that area. The population of that coastal area was 2.38 million before disaster. The death toll has risen to almost 20,000. Especially Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima Prefecture were damaged seriously. Yamada Town was greatly damaged by 8m-high Tsunami and huge fire. The death toll reached 816 people. The reconstruction works is still going since 2011/03/11.
