This image was shot from a train window in Japan using an iPhone. I have harnessed the algorithms normally used to create panoramic images in order to compile the material of this composition. I contribute 'perspective' to the final image by selecting and framing this particular moment. I am interested in exploring in how algorithmic processes 'see' the world they inhabit. The images that I create in this manner are touchstones, a way for us to think about how a future AI will perceive the world quite differently than we do. This question is increasingly germane as we humans come increasingly to rely upon AI and like processes to capture, process and interpret the world around us.
