This gorgeous 8-pt buck was laying down when all I saw in a distance was his antlers above the tall grass! I was so excited. He heard me and stood, but did not move, only turned and looked at me for a couple minutes, It was a perfect shot! I kept a reasonable distance, because during rut season, these males can turn aggressive quickly! But he must have sensed I was not a threat, and slowly made his way away from me!
