Celebrating my Popo’s 99th was an event, and the Indian summer we had in NYC this October made the outing even more pleasant. This was take 2 of Popo blowing out the candle, relishing the fact we were all too slow to capture it, even 2nd time around! Popo has been in NYC nearly half of her 99 years, arriving in 1972 to be with her then pregnant daughter. Over these 45 years she has taken care of grandchildren, rode on a rollercoaster, seen the Grand Canyon, voted for President, been witness to 9/11, lost her two sons... Popo has cried as much as she has laughed, but here in her 99th year, she chose to smile.
