Feeling the rush of adventure and accomplishment within herself, my backpacking companion does her best Norman Clyde impersonation near the top of Mount Whitney. We have just completed the 220 mile long John Muir Trail and are heading back down the trail towards Whitney Portal. We never thought we could do something so ambitious and the feeling of achievement and gratitude is overwhelming.
