A barren tree on Bulls Island
Bulls Island is about an hour north of Charleston, South Carolina and only accessible by boat. After the ferry dropped the passengers off on a hot summer morning in August, I walked the two miles to Boneyard Beach which is full of bare trees and driftwood. My goal was to slow down the motion of the water and create a sense serenity for the scene. The bare branches brought forth a vision in my mind of hands reaching to the heavens.
