20th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
A beach full of shells

My sister’s boyfriend is from north of Iran, he had promised us to take us there and camp on the beach. Once we traveled to his hometown, he was preparing breakfast for us on a sandy beach and I was wandering around the beach. There were lots of shells, but we are aware of damages of collecting shells for the environment, so I stareted photographing from the beach and shells instead of collecting shells. It’s worthwhile to note that it was strange for local people seeing me and my sister without hijab (as you know hijab is obligatory in Iran), but we felt free to walk and take photos without head scarf there, It was a wonderful day!
