18th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Travel
A Beach in Brazil
From the 11th floor of the building that I stayed in, in Recife, Brazil, I had a beautiful view of the ocean and the beach. I love the way the single person brings scale to this image, and how you can see the sand being lifted up into the water where the waves crash on the shore.
