A Big Snake

I noticed some people staring at something on the dock at Lake Paul Wallace so I walked over to see what was going on. A big snake maybe 5-feet long was lounging at the edge of the dock. I zoomed-in on the tail to make sure it wasn't a rattler and then began to think maybe it was someone's pet that had been turned loose. Or perhaps it was a Burmese python from Florida. I sent a picture of the snake to a state wildlife biologist who said it was a native species, the brown water snake, which is the biggest snake in the state.
