A Brilliant Fall Morning in Central Park

I went to Central Park before dawn to avoid crowds and, more importantly, capture the foliage in the golden hour. This shot was taken an hour or so after sunrise. The focus is meant to be the brilliant fall foliage on the west side of the lake (right side of the photo) glowing in morning light as the sun came up over the buildings on the east side (left side of the photo). But I also wanted to juxtapose this peaceful scene with the looming city in the background. In order to maintain the foliage and the perimeter of the lake as the main subjects, I cropped the photo to show just a hint of the dense urban landscape that abruptly takes over where the park ends. But the viewer can still get a glimpse of the enormity of the architecture in the slightly blurred reflections of the buildings in the glass-calm water.
