A Carnation for the Lost Masses
A flower found at the entrance of the Holocaust concentration camp, Auschwitz II-Birkenau in Poland. It was placed next to the remains of a cattle car which took prisoners into the death camp to their final resting place. This single thing of beauty in a place surrounded by death.
