A Chimney Bee collecting pollen

This native Chimney Bee (Diadasia nitidifrons) is busy collecting a load of pollen to feed her offspring from a Chaparral Mallow (Malacothamnus fasciculatus). She is a ground nester who builds a turret or "chimney" around the entrance to her nest.
