This image was inspired by JRR Tolkien's quote "all who wander are not lost" and a renewed sense of wonder and travel following the pandemic. I traveled to Colorado to visit my son in August 2021. We camped one night at Dillon Reservoir near Frisco, Colorado. I brought two of these compasses with me, one to give to my son Philip, and one for me to have fun with, experimenting with images where it is in the foreground of scenic landscapes. Later I combined the original image with one of my images of the full Moon.
