A Crack in the Earth

The Rio Grande River runs down out of the Rockies into northern New Mexico, where over the eons, and with the help of tectonic activity, it has carved this 800-foot-deep gorge just outside of Taos. I spent the summer there as part of my desert healing journey recovering from environmental illness, and I really fell in love with the area and this river canyon. Due to illness I can’t really hike or do much exploring. The best I can do is drive short distances to a trailhead or lookout and enjoy the view from my car. Having a drone let’s me see so much more than I might otherwise be able to do, and from a vantage point that we don’t often get to see.
