A curious black bear in Cade's Cove made its way to our car during our summer vacation to the Great Smoky Mountains. We were driving down the road and saw movement in the trees. The young bear casually walked up to our car, prompting us to quickly roll up our windows. It sniffed us out and crossed the road behind our vehicle. My family took it as a sign from above, since my husband had recently passed away and he greatly enjoyed spending time in Cade's Cove.
