A curious Bronze Jumping Spider perched on her leaf.
This Bronze Jumping Spider (Eris militaris) was spotted on a hot summer day in North Texas. At first glance I thought this little one was a fly, as it was leaping from leaf to leaf with such incredible agility. Upon closer inspection, her beautiful coloration and eye pattern immediately stuck out to me as a jumping spider. As soon as I got close enough to photograph her, she inched closer to my camera out of curiosity. This gentle curiosity allowed me to capture the perfect scene of her perch upon the greenery.
