Shown: a colorful lorikeet sitting on a branch at the Tanganyika Zoo in Goddard, Kansas. I was with family visiting the zoo when we decided to feed the lorikeets. There were at least 20 birds in the feeding area, and they were already full by the time we got in. This gave me a chance to capture some pictures full of detail as they were relaxed and had full bellies. I love this picture because of all of the vibrant colors, but I love even more that it was cloudy that day…only making the different shades of the bird more eye-catching.
