14th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Mobile
A dusty trail up to Dripping Springs.
I was driving at the base of the Organ Mountains in Las Cruces, New Mexico, when I saw the prettiest, wild trail. It looked like it was right out of an old Western movie. I was moved to jump out of the car and head into 'yonder, but not before snapping this gorgeous shot. The texture in the photo looks like a Van Gogh Post-Impressionism painting.
