A family of fisherman in a hamlet near the Sundarbans, India
For the fishermen in the Sundarbans - a thickly mangrove-forested delta in south Bengal - the rising level of sea, frequent cyclonic storms in coastal regions of Bay of Bengal, an ever increasing man-animal conflict zone - forcing fishermen and Bengal tigers in the ever shrinking domains of livelihood, have always remained causes of deep concern. But the recent spate of financial reforms in the country have proved for them to be a far more formidable challenge to face each day and feed the hungry mouths two square meals a day. This family is only one of many more of such in this region.
