A farmer with his calf

After a difficult breach labor, at 11:30pm on a muddy Friday June evening after a summer rain storm we were finally able to help pull "Mama's" calf. "Summer", a Charolais/Hereford Simmental cross, was born! Several tiring, but satisfying, farm days later (and 2 additional calves born), my husband and "Summer" were relaxing and reaping the benefits of each other. When I began taking photos my husband woke up and started smiling and laughing when he realized he had been caught napping and cuddling the little heifer.
