A Farmer's Weekend
I took this on a Saturday--farmers do not get a break on the weekend. Producing the country's food supply is a full time job. We often see photos of picture-perfect farms about which we can fantasize "escaping from it all" and leading a quaint and idyllic pastoral life. In this vein, it was recommended to me that I crop out the pile of junk in the yard and the old cars, but I thought that those elements conveyed that the pastoral life in reality is rarely glamorous. The work and life are hard. This photograph reminds me to think about where my food comes from and reminds me to be grateful to those who work so hard to produce it.
