A Feast for lakh – Tradition Alive in Bangladesh
This aerial view shows an extraordinary scene of communal cooking in Bangladesh, where rows of giant cauldrons bubble with food prepared for thousands of people. Such large-scale cooking is a long-standing tradition during religious gatherings, village feasts, charity events, and weddings. Using wood-fired stoves and long bamboo paddles, teams of cooks stir massive pots of rice, lentils, and meat, creating meals that will be shared by entire communities.
