A female Muntjac deer, just after dawn
This is a female Reeve's Muntjac, a species which is originally from south-east Asia and not native to the UK. It was introduced in the 19th century and then escaped into the countryside. It has now become widely naturalised across much of the country. It is about the size of a medium-sized dog and has a sharp alarm call.
