A fisherman mending his nets at sunset. Manabí, Ecuador.

There are very few fishermen left on the Ecuadorian coast who still go out fishing with their small "pangas", rowing boats that require enormous effort just to take it to the sea and return it to land. They catch shrimp and small fish that are barely enough for their family's consumption. He is cleaning and repairing his nets, while with the same patience a "gallinazo" (vulture) waits for him to throw him what is left over from his catch.
