15th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
A flamingo at rest.
I came across this flamingo in the Butterfly Gardens in Victoria B.C., and I had no idea that is how they rested. It made for a very unique shot compared to the typical long-necked pink bird perched on long, lanky legs.
