On my regular walk around Lafayette Park, I always admire the crowds coming from all over the world to take a brief peak at the White House. Yet it is also a regular part of my day. I noticed this Northern Mockingbird - likely a year-round resident of the city as well - on a similar flying visit. It was an insight into how DC's monumental buildings are as much a backdrop to DC's natural life as they are to my own.
