14th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Sustainable Travel
A garbage mountain

Situated outside the city of Kathmandu, Sisdol is the biggest dump in Nepal. Here, all the wet waste collected in Kathmandu should be brought by the trucks loaded at Teku in order to dispose them easily. Unfortunately, due to many interests, in Sisdol is possible to find every kind of garbage, and not only wet waste as it should be, making their disposing very difficult. For me it represent a sustainable travel because increase the awareness about the garbage disposal problem in order to improve the environment in which we live.
