A Ghost Forest in Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, MD

Saltwater intrusion, due to climate change and sea level rise, has killed these trees, creating what is known as a ghost forest. Such forests are growing both in size and frequency along coastlines around the planet, harbingers of what is to come.
