Early morning in Grand Teton National Park. Cold temperatures at 5-am means gloves and hot coffee. This image captured the beginning of a new day with fantastic light and cloud formations which developed into high winds later that afternoon. The eerie stillness of the long ago sod-roofed fur-trader cabin reminded me that nature takes back what is hers and provides us a momentary view into the unfolding beauty of the mountain morning in the peaks beyond. The timeless and constant renewal of nature continues in spite of man's former impact.
