A Great Gray Owl stretches a wing in a Yellowstone forest

When you are lucky enough to photograph an owl that has accepted your company, you often have to wait for anything exciting to happen. Sometimes they sleep for hours, only occasionally even opening their eyes. It can be frustrating. Often however, after their sleep is over, they will stretch, and that stretch alone is worth the wait.
