14th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
A Green Turtle (Chelonia mydas) swimming peacefully and reflecting beneath the dead calm ocean surface of the Caribbean Sea.
In a rare dead-calm day on the East Coast of Bonaire, a green turtle was peacefully swimming beneath the surface. The ocean was so calm that the turtle reflection beneath the surface was mirror-like clear and the soft movement of the water created an artistic scompositition of her figure.
