A hidden pride of Patagonia
A sheep-shearing shed rests silently on the Patagonian steppe. This shed, located near the town of Cerro Castillo, Chile just past the Argentinian-Chilean border, is an active part of the wool industry of Patagonia. But as sheep ranches -- called estancias in Patagonia -- have become more controversial due to environmental impact, many have begun weaving tourism into their business plans, catering to an incoming wave of international tourists.
