A historical conga group parades through a neighborhood in Santiago, Cuba
Made up entirely of members of Los Hoyos, an almost entirely Black neighborhood in the eastern Cuban city of Santiago, Conga de Los Hoyos is one of the most famous carnival music groups in Cuba. Founded in 1902, this group has a long tradition of bringing the community together. Whenever they march through the streets playing their drums and trumpets, most families from the neighborhood leave their homes to watch or even join the crowd in a large conga performance.
