The Northeastern part of Thailand is covered in acres of rice fields. During a sultry work day, a farmer will take breaks to lounge in the shade of his hut. A sustainable travel project to me means to learn from the community around you. Often, they can teach you more than you think you can teach them. If a traveler is hoping to help the community in a way, it must finds out what the community needs firsthand. Often, projects and money are lost due to the misconceptions of what an area is in need of.
