A Hyderabadi woman with flowers adorning her hair

Wearing flowers as hair ornaments is an integral part of South Indian culture. Every day, women select fresh flowers as a part of this custom. To me, it is such a simple and beautiful way to add color and fragrance to one's day. Another aspect of South Indian culture that I hoped to capture was the vibrant sarees that women wear. I was very lucky to find both those elements and a lovely smile from this lady I met!
