A juvenile pygmy short horned lizard in its home.
This is a juvenile pygmy short horned lizard - Phrynosoma douglasii - in its home in Eastern Washington. It lives in a shooting range, an area full of discarded garbage, shotgun shells, and cigarette butts. I took this shot to show the size of the juvenile, as well as the state of its home.
