This red-bellied snake was found wrapped up in a knot around a plant by one of my students during a nature hike. I happened to capture this picture on a whim because I hadn't seen anything this cool before. The student saw the snake wrapped up and avoiding a bird, which he scared away. You could say this snake had a very lucky day.
