On Oahu, Laysan albatross nest at Kaʻena Point Natural Area Reserve. A predator-proof fence was constructed to protect the nesting albatross and their chicks from mongoose, rat, pig, cat and dog predators. Consequently, the albatross do not shy away from photographers looking for a close-up.
