A Letter to D.C.

As an international student living in D.C. for nearly four years, I would describe D.C. as the capital that owns a special temperament that is both serious and gentle. This is such a delicate contrast and I am deeply intrigued by it. Because Covid-19 just started spreading out back to March 2020, I knew I have fewer chances to go out and shoot. So I went out at night. I looked up at the sky, the night is still peaceful. However, the edgy lines of the architecture that points to the sky were like a signal for me, that tells something going to puncture the peaceful night. Covid-19, BLM, anti-racism movement, etc. 2020 is such a tough year for this city, the country, and all of us in the world. From last year to the present, I am glad to see D.C is walking out of the dark and getting vibrant again. I deeply love this city and hope to go back soon.
