This is the final photograph I ever took of my Grandad. We called him G. We had no idea he was poorly when I took this, I just adored spending time with him looking through this album with him. It's old photos beginning with his time in the Royal Navy in World War II, his marriage to my Granny, the arrival of my Dad and Uncle. I loved this album so much, I loved the stories that came with it. He died around 3/4 months after this. After he left us, his album came to me. I lifted it out of the box to discover a mountain of other photos I had never seen. He and my Granny look just so cool. They are so young and happy. These images gave me the opportunity to get to know G as a person in his own right, long before he just so happened to be my Grandad. It is priceless to me. This album is a large part of my 'why' in my approach to photography.
