This photo shows the often unseen side of America's massive Interstate freeway infrastructure. The symmetry of the underside of Interstate-494's bridge over the Minnesota River and the sunlight that was pouring through the space between the eastbound and westbound lanes combined to create a scene that I believe symbolizes a sense of reaching and yearning for the road ahead that characterizes much of the traditional "American Dream."
