This lion was one of two in his exhibit, the other being female. He lives in an animal park in Pennsylvania where they are very well taken care of, but it is clear that animals in captivity don't have the same joy as those in the wild. His expression was more of an excessively large, sleepy house cat than one of the king of the wild. Until he roared, that is.
