The tall grass and excess rains in the Mara this year had made it difficult for the cats to hunt. Here I have captured the image of a lioness in the morning golden light looking for prey after a probable unsuccessful night of hunting. What I wanted to do was to have a back lit image and at the same time show the subject in full glory.
