A lion hungrily devours the leg of its pride’s zebra kill. During an early morning drive in the Maasai Mara in March 2023, we witnessed two male lions fighting over a zebra carcass. There was a lot of commotion but...it lasted only for a few seconds. Once the ‘debate’ had been settled, the alpha male got stuck into its meal while the less dominant lion had to back down and wait his turn. Such is the way of nature…
