16th Annual Smithsonian Magazine Photo Contest Natural World
A log floating in Lake Tahoe in Late May.
I spent 5 days with my brother in Northern NV camping on his land. We went to Lake Tahoe on the hottest day because everyone knows the water is so cold. We sat on the beach before dipping in the water and I saw this log floating by. I loved the rawness of nature and shot it before it passed me.
