A lone honeybee fills a comb cell
Many beekeepers have been struggling in recent years with colony collapse -- the demise of healthy hives for reasons likely linked to the environment and pesticides. This honeybee was one of a few left in one of my hives which collapsed, working diligently to store honey in honeycomb for the hive even though she's alone. I later combined her and her hive with a stronger one so that they would survive the winter.
